Synopsis

"Love Letters at Sixty" is based on the truth and impatience, happiness and joy, excitement and drawing a bond between people that offers priceless meaning. People have been working for the family and society, it is time to think about how to live a second life at sixty. The movie presents a pattern of life of three couples from different walks of life at 60 years old that offers the real adult romance.

Hitoshi Takashi Tachibana (Masatoshi Nakamura) is an executive director of a construction company. He decides to divorce his wife Chihiro (Mieko Harada) to be with his girlfriend Natsumi (Sachie Hara) after his retirement. A single doctor (Jun Inoue) falls for a translator (Keiko Toda) he meets at work. Masahiko (Issey Ogata) and Mitsue (Chie Ayado) runs a fish shop. One day Mitsue is hospitalised for cancer surgery and requests for her old-time Beatles song to be played in a guitar.
